Switch on the pen, point it at a possible source en you'll know right away if there is a high concentration of propane, LPG, natural gas or butane close by. The built-in LED tells you if the concentration of gas is dangerous (orange) or very dangerous with immediate evacuation (red). The pen weighs about 100 grams so it is easy to take with you: on a boat, in a caravan, at home, etc.
